About Project

Love ACTually is an innovative Erasmus+ project addressing the rise of gender-based and sexual violence among young people. Over the course of 36 months, we brought together 77 dedicated youth and experts from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Latvia to create engaging, innovative educational tools: online game, a board game, an escape room, and a thought-provoking podcast series.

OMG!Are you here?

OMG! Are You Here? is an engaging online game that young people can easily download to their phones. It features seven interactive stories where players get to decide how each situation unfolds. These narratives cover important topics like setting boundaries, dating, bystander intervention, and sexual harassment—real-life challenges that many young people may encounter.

The conversation topics are inspired by the voices of young people involved in our project and enriched with expert advice from our organization. This game can be enjoyed solo, but it also serves as an excellent educational tool, providing a solid foundation for discussions in relationship and sex education classes.

OMG!ESCAPE GAME

OMG! Escape Game is a portable quest introduced at public events in Czechia, Slovakia, and Latvia. Join our colleague Robin, who needs help watering her plants, and uncover the challenges in her relationship with Bernie.

Designed for 3-5 players, the game teaches about healthy and unhealthy relationships and the importance of being an active bystander, all while solving fun puzzles with friends.

Set up in a special tent with portable furniture, this escape "room" is easy to transport to festivals. Young participants have learned to be escape game masters, helping us engage over 700 players at events like Rock for People, Metronome and Pohoda Festival, and Pride events in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Latvia

If you'd like to have the game at your event, please contact us! You can also recreate it using our downloadable instructions. Join us for an educational and fun experience!

In this project, youngsters have been learning some principles of guerilla activism/content creation with their own and their organizations media equipment resources, and learned how to create video and audio products with the materials that they usually have on hand.

Work on video and podcast creation has been built based on following parts and principles:

  • Short theory & practice
  • Assignments
  • Short reflection, self-assessment & implementing changes & practice
Brochure

Brochure

Our educational brochure is a comprehensive tool designed to accompany our games, serving as a valuable resource for teachers, youth workers, camp leaders, and anyone working with young people. It provides strategies to use the games as effective educational tools for discussing important topics such as relationship and sexual education, prevention of sexual harassment and violence, equality, and identity.
With fresh and engaging methods, this brochure makes it easier to open up these conversations with teenagers.

Inside, you’ll find guidance on how to:

  • Create a safer classroom environment for discussing boundary-related topics.
  • Understand key theoretical insights relevant to the discussions.
  • Support youth in navigating questions about communication, relationships, and more.
  • Encourage young people to seek help and guidance when needed.

Involving Young People as Co-Creators

At the core of our project was a vibrant collaboration to develop educational games that truly resonate with young people. We knew that to create something impactful, we needed to invite youth voices into the process. So, we called upon a diverse group of enthusiastic young co-creators and testers, aged 18 to 26, to help us bring our vision to life.

Over the course of the project, we engaged 77 amazing individuals with very diverse experiences and backgrounds who dove deep into topics like respect, equality, relationship and sexual education, LGBTQIA+ issues, and gamification. Their creativity and insights were invaluable as they played a pivotal role in shaping our final products: the OMG! Escape Game, OMG! What Would You Do? board game, and OMG! Are You Here? online game.

A huge thank you to all the young creative minds and learners who participated on this journey! Your energy, ideas, and passion not only made these games relevant and entertaining but also empowered your peers to navigate important social topics.
